If you are doing any therapeutic play or play therapy work at all, then you must be a member of Play Therapy Ireland and renew your membership each year in order to remain on the register (click here). Play Therapy UK administers memberships on behalf of Play Therapy Ireland, therefore, Play Therapy Ireland members must put the link firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com into your contact details so the emails do not go into spam, or you will feel isolated and out of touch with new developments. The "Good To Know" newsletter will be sent at the end of each month to all PTI members from PTUK. Please put the following email into your contacts list firstname.lastname@example.org to receive. If you have any queries, please contact us on email address: email@example.com.Caerus - Caerus is a unique and comprehensive record management system which enables users to easily fulfil the requirements of annual re-validation and the latest data protection legislation; it will store your data for the rest of your career. PT Ireland recommends that Caerus is completed throughout the year to avoid a last minute rush at renewal time (a bit like tax returns!). If you get into the practice of using the Caerus system from the moment you start working therapeutically with children, the task of re-validating at the end of January will be minimal. Caerus will have a number of updates every year which will be sent to you, and you will need to download. This will not affect your current data.If you do not think you will be doing any Play Therapy work in the coming year, or for the next several months, then you can renew as a non-practising member - €70, but PTUK will need a Caerus file from you to cover any work you have done during the past year. There is no minimum requirement for hours, but if you do only one or two in the whole year, then you must upgrade your membership from non-practicing to practicing by contacting firstname.lastname@example.orgIt is best not to break your membership. Instead, opt for non-practising member. It keeps you in the picture in terms of what developments are happening in the field of Play Therapy and what changes are taking place. It also means that you can change your status to a practising member again without having to go through reapplication procedures. The membership renewal fee can be paid in Euros through the shop http://playtherapyshop.com/index.htm. You can also find information on membership fees and grades using this link.If you have any queries in relation to revalidation, contact email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.orgPTIreland/PTUK/PTI/ - The Coach House - Belmont Road - UCKFIELD - TN22 1BP. Please look at the renewal date on your membership card and see what date it expires. All trainees must contact PTUK who administer membership on behalf of PT Ireland at email@example.com to renew membership when required. Diploma students - your membership is not included in your course fee as your membership renewal is on an annual basis and is based on when you first joined.
Please read the journals and the PTUK Communigator e-mails you are getting throughout the year. Make sure you have firstname.lastname@example.org in your contact details. If you are not receiving them, make it your business to find out why by contacting email@example.com.
You may pay the membership renewal fee online http://playtherapyshop.com/index.htm and as you are a trainee, APAC will need your Caerus file twice - now for renewal with contact details, payment reference and declarations completed and again as part of your portfolio hand in when your course tutor will tell you when to send that through.
